My Story
I first discovered Ayurveda in 2014 when I was trying to find a sustainable way to improve my own health. When a friend of a friend suggested I should look into Ayurveda, like most people, my initial thought was “Ayur-what?”.
With no clue what Ayurveda was, I tried to keep an open mind and went to the library to see what I could learn. The information was all completely new to me, but everything just made so much sense and started to “click” into place.
Within a few short months, I lost about 15 lbs, I was better sleeping at night and I started to feel less anxious. The dreaded brain fog lifted and I was genuinely feeling better than I ever had before.
Around six months into this new lifestyle, I decided I wanted to learn as much as I could and find ways to share Ayurveda with others. Having already completed a degree in media and masters in journalism, this was not part of my “plan.”
Nonetheless, I decided to enroll in Ayurveda school anyways and the rest is history! Fast forward to today, I completed my diploma in Ayurveda and went on to study yoga, specialise in Ayurvedic digestion & nutrition, train as an Advanced Ayurveda Practitioner and now focus on supporting women’s health since becoming a mom myself.
I’ve worked with countless women teaching them how to incorporate Ayurveda in their everyday lives to reach their health & wellness goals. Now, my aim is to bring all of that information to you here at Ayurveda with Rebecca!
So What is Ayurveda All About?
Ayurveda (pronounced eye-yur-vay-duh) originated in India approximately 5,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest medical systems in the world. It’s still, however, very relevant today as many women look for a practical and preventative approach to their health.
Literally meaning “the science of life,” Ayurveda offers an integrative approach, using diet and lifestyle to restore or maintain health. There is no cookie cutter or one size fits all solution – Ayurveda is highly personalised.
Ayurveda is not a fad, quick fix or magic solution that will instantly solve your problems. Instead, it’s a way of life! Time-tested over thousands of years, Ayurveda is rapidly gaining popularity across the world as people look for effective, affordable and simple ways to feel well.
I break it down into bite sized chunks, making it easy for you to implement, even if you’re scarce on time. I teach you the tools that you can implement for life!
